About Seafood City Supermarket

Seafood City Supermarket is North America’s largest Filipino market and food hall, offering the widest selection of Filipino groceries, fresh seafood, meat, and produce. More than a supermarket, it is a destination where customers can enjoy authentic Filipino flavors through our in-house bakery, Bakers Avenue, and popular dining concepts like Grill City. From everyday essentials to ready-to-eat meals, Seafood City brings the Filipino food experience together under one roof.

Located at 134-140 S Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90004, Seafood City Supermarket operates as a seafood market serving Los Angeles in California. Google also lists it under asian grocery store, supermarket, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Quality has declined. Feels like management has changed. Large portion of the packaged products are very low quality, same as you would find in a 99 cent store. Fruit selection was limited and quality below par. They did not have simple regular whole milk. They only have lactose free. Best seafood used to be better but it's only average now and that's limited to Asian. The store did not have any cereals not a single kind.

I'm giving Seafood City a solid four stars. Let me start by saying—the moment you walk in, you're hit with a strong seafood smell. It's not the most pleasant at first, almost like something's gone bad, but after a few minutes, you realize it's just that raw, natural seafood scent you’d expect from a place selling live crab and fresh catch daily. The store itself is extremely well stocked, especially if you're looking for Asian groceries or specialty items you won’t find at your regular supermarket. The seafood section is impressive—they offer a wide variety of fresh options, including live crab and shellfish. However, the meat section didn’t look too great. The quality seemed a little off, but to be fair, I wasn’t expecting premium cuts here. What knocks it down to four stars for me is the customer service—or lack of it. Employees barely acknowledge you, and when they do speak, it’s so fast and mumbled that it’s hard to understand what they’re saying. It feels very rushed and impersonal. If you're coming strictly for the selection, this place delivers. But don’t expect warm greetings or help from the staff. Still, worth stopping by if you're looking to cook up something fresh an

Typical Filipino grocery. One stop shop to get your Filipino food cravings. Today was junk food trip and some canned goods. They definitely keep it well stocked. I’ve purchased fish here, they can clean and fry it up for you too! Everything always fresh!

This is a very good market that carries a variety of southeast asian products but mostly filipino ones. They mostly carry groceries including produce, meat, ingredients, and prepackaged food. The prices here seem affordable, especially the meat section. The store is also kept clean and doesn't have a strong odor. I'd come back again.

Fresh seafood is all around. Along with all the other meats you can choose for your meal plans. I feel the quality of this market is fresh when it comes to their fish. While I was waiting to choose my fish and have it scaled and cut for me plenty of other orders that were ahead of me as well as behind me were being cycled through. They can also deep fry your fish for you before leaving. While I only came there for the seafood itself, the rest of the store felt decently in stock.
